Play Granny unblocked right in your browser — no download, no install. You wake up locked inside Granny's house with five days to find a way out, and she hears everything: dropped objects, creaking floorboards, careless footsteps. Search the rooms, collect the keys and tools you need, and stay out of her way long enough to escape.
About Granny
Granny is a first-person survival horror game built around stealth, sound and escape-room style puzzles. Every run drops you back into the same dark house, but the items you need are scattered differently, so you can never simply repeat a memorised route. The main door is held by several locks, and each route out — the front door, the garage and the car, the escape pipe — needs its own set of tools.
What makes the game tense is that Granny reacts to noise. Drop something in the wrong room and she will come to investigate. She also places bear traps, so a careless sprint down a corridor can cost you a day. Hiding under a bed or inside a wardrobe can reset a bad situation, but staying hidden too long wastes the little time you have.
You get five days. Every time she catches you, the day is gone and you start again closer to the end. That deadline is what turns the game from a slow exploration into a planning problem: you have to decide which route you are committing to and gather only the items that route actually needs.
How to Play Granny
Getting started takes four steps:
- Explore the house. Move through rooms and corridors quietly, checking drawers, cabinets, shelves and hidden spaces as you go.
- Collect the keys and tools. Items such as the Master Key, Padlock Key, Hammer and Wrench are each tied to one specific lock, mechanism or escape route.
- Avoid making noise. When Granny is close, break line of sight and take a hiding spot instead of trying to push past her.
- Finish one escape route. Use what you find to remove locks, repair mechanisms or open new areas until a single way out is complete.

How to Beat Granny
Granny is easier when you treat each attempt as a route-planning puzzle rather than a race. Once you know how the rooms connect and which sounds give you away, the house stops feeling random.
Stay Quiet and Listen First
Before you cross a hallway or open a new room, stop and listen. If Granny is already nearby, waiting a few seconds is usually cheaper than starting a chase that costs you a whole day.
Search With a Purpose
Do not carry every object you find. Work out what an item is for, remember where you saw it, and take only the pieces that move your current route forward.
Use Hiding Spots to Reset Danger
Beds and wardrobes are the fastest way out of a bad encounter. Hide before she sees exactly where you went, wait for her movement to fade, then carry on searching.
Plan Around the Five-Day Limit
Use the early days to learn item locations and open access to important areas, then spend the later days finishing a route instead of exploring at random.
Important Items in Granny
Most confusion in Granny comes from picking something up before you know what it does. These are the objects worth recognising:
| Item | What it does |
|---|---|
| Master Key | Unlocks the Main Door — but only after the other locks on that door have been removed. |
| Padlock Key | Opens the regular padlock on the Main Door and on the Garage Door for the car route. |
| Hammer | A multi-use tool for removing or opening obstacles connected to escape progress, such as the wooden planks on the Main Door. |
| Wrench | Tightens the bolts on the Engine Part as part of repairing the car. |
| Wheel Crank | Used in the Spider Cellar to raise an iron gate and open access to further cupboards and areas. |
| Wooden Stick | Acts as a lever for one of the locks on the Escape Pipe route. |
| Book | Placed on the lectern in the hidden bookshelf area, and part of obtaining the Spider Key. |
| Teddy Bear | Tied to Slendrina and one of the game's secrets — placing it in the crib connects to a special ending sequence. |
Granny Difficulty Modes
There are five difficulty levels, and the right one depends on whether you are still learning the house or already know the puzzle flow.
| Mode | Best for |
|---|---|
| Practice | Learning the rooms, item interactions and routes without Granny actively hunting you. |
| Easy | Getting used to stealth and item management with a more forgiving challenge. |
| Normal | The standard balance of exploration, danger and puzzle solving. |
| Hard | Players who already know the house and want a more demanding escape. |
| Extreme | The toughest option — Granny is faster and checks hiding spots more thoroughly. |
Tips and Strategies for Granny
Listen Before You Move
Treat audio as an early warning system. Footsteps and movement sounds tell you whether a hallway is safe before Granny comes into view.
Do Not Drop Important Items Randomly
Dropping something makes noise and makes it harder to remember where you left a key tool. If you must free your hands, put the item somewhere you will remember.
Learn One Escape Route at a Time
Working on several routes at once means a lot of wasted walking. Once you have enough pieces for a promising route, commit to finishing it.
Use Practice Mode to Learn the Layout
If you keep getting lost, Practice mode is the fastest way to memorise stairways, shortcuts, hiding spots and puzzle locations before going back to a harder setting.
Granny FAQ
How many days do I have to escape Granny?
You get five days. Every time Granny catches you, the current day ends and you wake up in the starting bedroom with one fewer attempt left. Learning the map early matters more than searching at random.
How do I beat Granny?
Complete one escape route before your days run out. Search the house for keys, tools and puzzle items, stay quiet so Granny does not find you, and use each object on the correct lock or mechanism until an exit is ready. The front door, the car in the garage and the escape pipe are all viable routes — pick one and finish it.
Is Granny multiplayer?
No. The original Granny is a single-player survival horror game: you escape the house alone. Multiplayer games that use similar names are separate titles, not a mode inside the original.
Is Granny based on a true story?
No. Granny is a fictional horror game created by DVloper. The house, the characters and the escape scenario were designed for suspense and survival gameplay rather than based on a real case.
What does the Wheel Crank do in Granny?
The Wheel Crank is used in the Spider Cellar. Placing it on the correct mechanism raises an iron gate and gives you access to additional areas and cupboards. It is an access item rather than a final key.
What is the Wrench for in Granny?
The Wrench belongs to the car escape route. After the Engine Part is placed on the engine, the Wrench tightens its bolts to complete that repair step. If you are not working toward the car escape, you do not need to carry it.
What does the Teddy Bear do in Granny?
The Teddy Bear is tied to one of the game's secrets and to Slendrina. Placing it in the crib can trigger a special interaction, so its purpose is different from the ordinary keys and escape tools.
Where does the Master Key go in Granny?
The Master Key goes on the Main Door, but it is not a universal key. You can only use it to finish the Main Door escape after the other required locks and obstacles on that door have already been removed.
